So, what is being a KGB agent mean?

So, some of you have asked what does it mean to be a “KGB Agent“. No, I’m not talking about being some secret Russian spy, matter of a fact, it has nothing to do with Russia. KGB is a newer service that provides text messaging services to those who choose to text in. Basically, you text in a question that you’d like answered to “KGBKGB or 542542″ and get a real life person to answer the question for you. There are many commercials that show on the TV for it.

Basically, I’m the one, along with hundred others, whose behind the scenes answering those questions people send in. They strive to have people be aware that its a real life human that is answering these questions, not some automatize service. So, what does this job entitle? It is a work at home position that you do completely over the internet.

Basically, the first thing you need to do to become a KGB Agent is try out their “challenge”. You can find more information regarding being an agent, and taking the challenge here. The challenge consists of numerous questions that you have to answer. The challenge is a lot more tougher than work itself for we have much more time to answer the question. You are given multiple categories and have to fill out questions for each category. (Before doing the challenge, read through the link I posted above and make sure you’re qualified to be a Special Agent first. You don’t want to go through the hassle of the challenge if you can’t even get it because you don’t have one of the requirements.)

After you take and pass the challenge, you’re accepted to be in training. You are given a week to read though various lessons and through information regarding what exactly you’re supposed to do for answering questions. You have to take tests and pass them. KGB Agents are expected to follow all their protocol and polices.

After the training process, and if you pass the questions correctly, you’ll receive a Simulation invite. Basically, it logs you into their system, you are given so many questions for you to practice on, and find out whether or not you qualify and understand how to do it. Your simulation is then graded, and within a few more days you can fill out your tax and mailing information and you’re approved.

You can start shadowing questions which basically means, you’re work some shifts, and all your questions will be reviewed to make sure you completely and fully understand what the hell you’re doing. I was shadowing for a week or so before receiving my letter saying that I’ve been accepted to be a “full fledged agent”. Everyone’s time and duration shadowing will vary. I think I was accepted sooner than later because I got some really good reviews.

So, how much do KGB Agents get paid?
You’re paid (on average) $0.10 per question you fully answer. $0.05 per question that is preassigned in their system. I’ve realized that some questions give you higher amounts and some don’t. It really does vary. But you’re working from home so you gotta figure that into your pay. You’re getting paid to sit on your behind from the comfort of your house. That’s worth a lot more than anything.

That’s it?! Why would you even bother?!
Money is money, whether it be $1 or $300. I figure, if I were to work, one hour every day, for $2 (roughly) an hour, that would be $60 extra a month I didn’t have before! Now, I will admit, it is sometimes a lot more work than its worth, but if you’re not interested, don’t bother signing up. That’s why there is such a high turn around rate. People are expecting to make so much, only to find they probably wont.

How do KGB Agents get paid?
All payments are directly deposited into your bank account. That’s right, you must have a bank account to sign up! You will get paid once a month and only if your amount is $40 or more. If you are under $40 for that month, it will roll over on to the next month; If you hit two months, and the amount still has not reached $40, you will be cashed out. No matter what you’re total, after two months you’ll receive a payment. Lately, they’ve been being really nice and depositing any amount you have. Which is awesome.

How much on average do you make?
This was my most curious question, and I never seemed to find a direct answer for it either. In short terms; it varies. Every single night I have worked has varied. One night I worked for one hour and I received $1.30, while as the previous night before that I worked two hours and received $4.30. It really does vary from night to night depending on how many texts are coming in, how fast you’re answering them, etc. We were notified a few days ago through email about “June’s Top Earners” there was someone that made $1150 in the month of June! So, there is potential on making a lot of money – but it is a lot of work, and you’d have to work a lot. My two checks were $40 one month, and $38 another. I wasn’t working nearly as much as I could have though.

Well, I don’t know much else I can say about it. I’m definitely interested in this though and will continue to do it. I’ve worked maybe 10-11 hours so far in the past week that I’ve been accepted and love it so far. Like I said, I cannot make a career out of this with the pay I’ll be receiving but money is money, a dollar is in fact a dollar, and since I cannot go out of the home to work; this will do for now. If you have any further questions regarding this, please feel free to ask and I’ll do my best to answer what I can. Thank you.

Is there a minimum you must work a month?
There is a minimum of 8 hours a month that you must be logged in working – They totally understand if you’re having problems in your life and you’re unable to log in and work that amount. They’re very understanding. In September I was only able to work 2 hours, and I emailed them to let them know that I wasn’t going to be able to make my minimum. They informed me that they understood, and told me to just not make a habit out of it.

There’s contests!
If they know they’re going to be short hand and there are LOADS of commercials airing which will bring in more questions over certain weekends, they hold contests for the agents. For instance, one weekend if you answered 50 questions within a night you will be entered to win $20. Another contest they’re currently doing is if you answer 150 questions – you get a free t-shirt. They always have contests to earn free _kgb items, money, and prizes!

Needless to say, its a fun job. I really enjoy it. It takes a lot of incentive and push to make yourself work though. If you have that self discipline, you’ll do just fine. Any questions? Please feel free to ask, I’ll do my best to answer.

  1. , I’m definitely going to look into this. Is It a completely legit service? And do you just make your own hours by logging in?

  2. There are many ways you can work… you can schedule any hours that you’re willing to work (They’re looking for 2nd and 3rd shift workers especially, so your best bet, in being able to get accepted is by choosing these hours of work).

You schedule using their scheduling service. You can schedule the hours you work, have them try you at certain hours (if they’re busy, they’ll contact you and see if you want to work), you can set your available hours that you have normally nothing going on, and if they get busy, they will contact you – OR you can just try to login, if its busy enough, it will let you login. There are restrictions as to how many hours a week you have to work etc.

I haven’t to be careful on how much information I provide publicly due to privacy laws and rules and such. But, that’s the jist of it.

It is legit. There are many people I know who have done it. There are also commercials regarding the service on tv every single day, so you know the company is real – A lot of fake companies won’t spend money on advertisement if it isn’t real.

  3. I know they say you must be 18 but does anyone know if they would ever find out/care? I am a couple months too young but I really would like to do this.
