I am beyond happy. Over the moon. Blissfully unaware of the surroundings around me. The last one is the truest. I got a new laptop today and I couldn’t be happier. Everything is working phenomenally. I am able to type so much easier and not have to worry about backspacing a thousand times. Sure, I need to slow down with my typing but the keys are responding, the error is in the user, not the computer. I just need to reteach myself how to type right. The mouse, oh! the mouse! I don’t have to worry about the touchpad at all anymore. There are settings for everything and I mean EVERYTHING! I don’t have to worry about tapping it on accident while I type, or when I’m scrolling up and down on a webpage I don’t have to worry about accidentally hitting it with three fingers and an entirely new window popping up on me. In fact, the first thing I did was go through each and every setting and made it exactly to my liking.

I’m incredibly distracted. I found myself down the rabbit hole… I found … dun dun dun – YOUTUBE! I was told by Mike that I need to find something on Youtube that interests me and learn something new. I came across a few vloggers and learned so much in the past two weeks while watching videos. How to clean my house, how to budget my money, how to get out of debt, how to start my own business, how to manage my money, how to journal and write your to-do lists, etc. It’s kept me plenty busy, yet very unproductive, yet kinda productive because I’ve implemented a few of the things I’ve learned.

The house is clean.

I’m in debt.

I have money in savings just in case.

I need a job to pay off debt.

I’m not worried about the debt.

Yes, I bought a new laptop. This was a necessity for me. My entire life revolves around what I do on the computer, and to be honest, I cannot function properly without all my lists and excel spreadsheets or EVERNOTE! OMG, I don’t know where I’d be without Evernote.

I have a game plan once I have a job again.

I think if I go back to DHL, I will go at it with a much different approach. Sure, I’ll still VTO, I’m not denying that I’ll still VTO at certain times because, let’s be honest, I can think of a million reasons to not be at work. You get the opportunity to go home instead of sitting at work doing nothing but writing in a notebook, you take it. At least, that’s how my mind worked. I would be much calmer this time around. If I get hired on, or not, it doesn’t matter because I know I can manage a winter being off without worry or nonsense. I would work hard towards my goals that I set for myself but that’s just it, I wouldn’t be setting myself up for some major lifestyle change that will do all these crazy things. I would go to work. I would work my hardest – like I always do – and I would come home and go on about my day. If I get hired on, great, if not, well then I take the winter off and try again the following year or find something else more fulfilling. I’ve been pushing hard to find a receptionist job somewhere close. Unfortunately, with Mikhail, I can only work at 9 am or later, so that leaves very little because most offices open at 7 or 8 am.

Needless to say, I’m not worried. For the first time in a long time, I’m not worried.

I must say, I’ve written this blog post very efficiently. Not a lot of backspacing and going back to fix errors. I was able to just crank out this entry without a lot of distraction from my fingers hitting the touchpad, etc. Hooray! I’m so happy.

I’m going to end this here. I have a lot to do with budgeting. I think tomorrow will start my SPENDING FREEZE. I am going to do a seven-day spending freeze and see how I do. The only thing I’ll buy is milk if I need it. I paid every bill in December minus one that doesn’t post until the 10th so I cannot pay that one until later but every other bill is paid for December already. I still have four checks coming from unemployment, plus three checks from child support coming. Christmas is done and paid for. See, needless to say, I wasn’t too worried about the laptop. I’m a month ahead of my bills with money in savings, money coming in, and Christmas – the biggest expense in December – is paid for in full. We have a house full of groceries and are doing the shelf challenge by eating ONLY what we have in the house for a month. *nods* I think I got things figured out for now *knock on wood* something can change at any moment so I’m counting my blessings and will just go with the flow.
