New Record?
I think I’ve hit a new record, a new entry daily (at least for three days :wink:)Hmm… I need some music. Ahh, much better. I’m such a nerd sometimes, I swear. LOL Anyways… My taxes were delayed (I may have already told you all this) so they will be here by the 19th. So, its just a waiting game until they show up. My original plans with this money was to buy a car, but judging by the fact that my Aunt Mary hasn’t told me much of whether or not she’s going to let me buy her Jeep off her, I don’t know whats going on with that. I have to wait until spring to learn how to drive anyways (no one will teach me right now due to all the snow) So… I’ve decided, I’m for sure, buying my lap top. I’ve narrowed it down to two choices… This will be first choice… HP – Pavilion Laptop with AMD Turion™ 64 X2. Check out the specs: here. This is a little higher in price than I wanted to spend, but its got everything I want. 2gb Ram, 250gb hard drive, built in webcam & mic. Its got a bunch of multimedia software installed. The reviews said it was amazing. The screen resolution is really crisp, and there’s a great graphics card in it. While I was reading through everything, I was extremely impressed. Like I said, its a lot higher priced than I wanted to spend, but stuff like this, you sometimes gotta splurge. I mean, I don’t want to get the cheapest around, and have it die on me in a year. Because, that would suck! According to the reviews, it seems the only problem this thing has is that A.) The disk drive is a little louder than normal when running CDs. Luckily for me, I don’t normally use CDs or DVDs. So, this won’t be a problem. B.) The touch pad is a little hard to get used to, because well, its too touchy. I believe theres a setting in laptops to change the sensitivity on the touch pad. Also, when I’m doing graphics and such… I’ll be using a mouse, so no big deal. Also, this one had excellent reviews for the battery life. Which is always great. This will be first choice… Dell – Inspiron Laptop with AMD Turion™ 64 X2 – Midnight Blue. Check out the specs: here. This was the 2nd choice. Well, this was the one I was planning on getting originally. I’ve been looking at this one for about three months now. The reviews are alright, the problems with this one are… The battery reading is weird. Also, there are a lot of preloaded software (which is easily able to be removed, when you know what you’re doing). So, that about sums this one up. Again, this has everything I want… 2gb ram, 250gb hard drive, built in web cam (no mic). The bad thing about this laptop, is that the ram is not expandable. The other one, I can expand/upgrade to be up to 4gb. So, thats a big downside to me. I multi-task A LOT on my computer. Like now… I have PSP, Windows Media Player, 8 tabs in Firefox, 3 additional windows of Firefox, AIM, Yahoo Messenger, Animation Shop 3, currently ALL opened on my computer. So yea… Well, those are my choices, I’m more than likely, am going to pick the HP. I guess we’ll see if its actually at the store when we go, also if something else catches my eye. I really, really, don’t want to spend that much (less I spend on the lap top itself, the more I can spend on accessories and such, hee hee) But, like I said, we’ll see…Now, with that being said… what else are we getting with our taxes? Well, the plan is to get a new TV. Mike was looking at regular HD LCD 32″ TV’s. Which was fine by me, anything bigger than that, doesn’t look as good (in my eyes) and it was in reasonable price range. Well, now he’s looking at some Aqua thingy or something or other… I have no idea, but what I do know is that this TV is almost a grand… O.O Holy Shit! Now, yes, I’m saying “Holy Shit” about a really expensive tv, when my lap top will probably end up around the same price… But… I’m getting back 4 times the amount as Mike is… and quite frankly I deserve to buy something for myself. I never buy anything big for myself, so stick that in your juice box and suck it.*sigh* Like I said, I guess we’ll see what happens when the money comes. Its burning a hole in our pockets prior to even getting it. LOL I’m going to go for now… have some cleaning to do, time to spend with Nickolas, and such. TTYL everyone !
