I broke it [again] — Dammit!

Lesson Learned …So, something pops up on my computer saying that I have a bunch of system updates and upgrades. Alright, I haven’t seen this before so I’m going to assume its important. I go through all the upgrades and updates with no problem. Then something comes along saying that I need to update the BIOS information. This makes me nervous because anything dealing with the BIOS is never good. So, I do it anyways. I update it, it says it will shut down when its complete. So, it runs though, 10% – 30% – 100%. Complete. Awesome. It shuts down. I turn it back on. The keyboard doesn’t work. The mouse doesn’t work. What the hell? So I plug in my USB mouse and that works fine. I go through and see if there are any more updates that need to be done and it says there are four more BIOS updates that need to be completed. I take these actions. It tells me DO NOT shut down your computer. Do not turn off anything. Make sure your laptop is plugged in so your battery doesn’t die. So, I start the process. I go and start cooking dinner. I check on it, nothing. noting is being done. Now neither mouse work. Keyboard doesn’t work. I’m thinking, it froze. It doesn’t say 1% complete yet. It’s been an hour, and nothing. Yea, it had to have froze. Do I shut it off? No. I said not to… But it froze, I can’t do anything! The mouse don’t work. I can’t type anything. Its not saying any progress is being done. I walk away. After finishing my meal that I cooked (chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, gravy— the whole shabang! Had to share because I’ve been craving it AND because I actually cooked a huge meal.) I go back to my computer. Nothing. Absolutely no changes have been made. Fuck this. I shut it off. Nothing bad will happen. I’ll just turn it back on and restart the update. I turn the computer back on. Whats this? Nothing. Thats right, folks. N-O-T-H-I-N-G nothing. NOTHING. Happens. There is no “beep”. There is no beautiful Windows screen. I get nothing. FUCK! Time to go on the desktop — Which I now officially hate. The laptop is mine. My heart, my soul, my everything. I look it up. I talk to a friend. You got it, folks. Dead. I killed it. The only way to undo the error I did? Buy a new BIOS chip. FUCK ME! God dammit! So, Mike says we’ll take it in tomorrow. We have the apartment inspection tomorrow. Which, is never fun. So we spent majority of the day cleaning. Everything is pretty much clean. If they have a problem with anything they can kiss my ass because they’ve done NOTHING for us. I’m angry. I’m mad at my own ignorance. I’m not an idiot when it comes to computers. So, why did I do such an idiot ‘Holy Fuck! What the hell were you thinking?’ type move?! Fuck. I should have known better! Moral of the story is …Lesson Learned …Lesson Fucking Learned!!!Edit:What the fuck? Honestly, what the serious fuck is going on! I’m on my laptop. Yea, its working. Uhm, didn’t I just have a huge meltdown because it stopped working? Didn’t I look it up and learn the only way to fix it was to get a new bios chip? How the fuck is it possible that it turned on? I looked up a few things and it said to unplug the computer, take out the battery, plug the computer back in, and turn it on. Sure shit, it worked. It fucking worked. So, Nikkole, why aren’t you freaking happy as shit? Because, I’m confused as hell. Do I ignore this whole ordeal happening? Do I just imagine that it never happened and go on using my laptop? Just to be on the safe (our completely idiotic) side, do I do the upgrade again, this time not touching ANYTHING and pray it goes through? I think I’m going to choose this: leave it the fuck alone. Don’t touch anything. Just continue doing whatever it was that I was doing. I’m going to act like nothing happened. Maybe I’m stupid. Anyways, there’s my edited update. I don’t know how much more I can take!
