Accomplishments for 08/24 – 08/30
So, I’ve been slacking with the whole keeping up with my blog the past few weeks – life has been hectic! I’ve been getting myself, Nickolas, and the rest of the family ready for the new school year. This is SO new to us! I got my license last week, so I’ve been on the go trying to get everything taken care of… Plus, I got four, yes, FOUR teeth pulled on Friday. I’ve been laying low since.
So, part of my therapy with my psychologist is writing out my accomplishments. I wanted to share those with you all.
My Accomplishments for 08/24 through 08/30.
- I visited both my parents. (Yes, Mom included.)
- I’ve been keeping calming a lot better lately. I’ve still blown up and threw off the handle – but I’ve calmed myself down a lot faster than before, and has had al ot more patience when I really try.
- Met Nickolas’ teacher this week. I asked a lot of questions and felt really involved.
- I kept calm with Matt when he picked up Nickolas this weekend. I kept our conversation to the bare minimum, and pushed aside any anger, or other feelings I had towards him or the situation.
- I set up Nickolas’ clothes for the week.
- Nickolas and I sat down and picked his meals for the week (They always have a choice between a few entrees for his breakfast and lunch – so we sat down and chose which one he would want for each day so there was no confusion later on or at school.)
- Bought all his snacks for the month.
- Got all four of my teeth pulled – that was a MAJOR accomplishment in itself.
- Went to bed early almost all week. This weekend, after getting my teeth pulled, I was in bed before 10pm every day, and rested a lot.
- I went from Friday until Sunday without smoking! It gave me a good time to heal up my mouth. I had bought cigarettes again today (not entirely sure why, but I don’t know where I’m headed yet) and I only smoked one cigarette since. I’d like to be done – I’m trying, and its a work in progress.
As you can see, I accomplished a lot this week. I wrote these out about 20 minute ago, as a whole. I didn’t write out every single day, or a little here and there like I should have. I really need to set aside a time everyday to write down what I had accomplished for that day – or ever few hours. That way I can REALLY feel the sense of accomplishment even for the little things.
Next is to figure out what mine and the kids schedules are going to be for the week. I need to figure out what chores I’m going to do what days – what I”m going to do by the hour. Set certain times for myself and the kids to do specific things.
… Needless to say, I’m pretty proud of how far I’ve come in the past few weeks. It’s a slow work in a progress, and I know I’m not FIXED yet… but hey, look how far I’ve come. I gotta think about the LITTLE things and appreciate them instead of looking at it in a LARGE picture.
So far, so good, right?

Wow, that is a HUGE improvement. Plus you’re getting things done more so that probably is a big relief as well :)
Ow on the teeth pulling! Aw well done for getting everything done, I always love completing a to do list

I’m so proud of you! :) Everything seems to be moving in a positive direction and it will only continue. I probably need to have some teeth of my own pulled. Eh, but you know, it’s important that you’re on the road to better days. Rest and less stress are an important part of happiness.
